REPRODUCTION 10th C. BIRKA LOCK
Slide key with 2 rectangular wards, restricting the passage of any 'other'
key. They are offset to each other, and thus the key is asymmetrical and
can only be used one way up.The keyways in the key are clearly visible here

Casket Lock
A small barrel lock of copper and brass, with steel springWardless, with a T-slot keyhole
Hinged Shackle Pipe Lock
In this style the locks springs are attached to a removable end plate.
The shackle is inserted through a hole in the housing, and the springs of the end plate are inserted through a hole in the shackle.
Push key, no wards
16thC. Turn Key
A reproduction of a lock from Raine Borg's collectionthis has a turn key which slides a sprung bolt to disengage the shackle The wards are the housing of the lock itself

A second production of the Birka abovethis one has symmetrical wards to allow the key to be used either way up. Body is approximatly 40mm x 40mm x 40mm
